GoZen! Peace Within Reach: Anxiety Relief Program

Does your child suffer from anxiety?

  • Does your child cling to your leg when you have to leave?
  • Does your child avoid socializing with other kids?
  • Does your child lose sleep due to nervousness or fear?
  • Do you find yourself frequently telling your child everything’s going to be okay?
  • Are you constantly answering your child’s “What if” questions?
  • Does your child just worry a lot about seemingly little things?
Where does anxiety come from?

A long time ago worry helped our ancestors survive in a dangerous environment.  If they detected a Saber-toothed cat in the grass, their worry system would put them on alert and signal them to skedaddle or else become lunch.  This is called the negativity bias and it’s a good thing.  It kept our ancestors alive so they passed it down to us.

Fortunately, we live in a much safer world now with house cats instead of saber-toothed ones. Our worry system doesn’t need to be on high alert all the time.

Children with anxiety are CONSTANTLY on high alert and seeking out danger even when there is no danger.  They are unnecessarily putting themselves in fight or flight mode. This is why children with anxiety are nervous, jittery, moody, unfocused, need constant reassurance, don’t sleep well, are overly self-critical or hypersensitive.

In short, they are not in control of their own worry.

How can GoZen help?

We teach your child how to understand and control their worry. This isn’t a magic pill or a miracle cure. It’s just good old-fashioned research and science delivered in a fun, engaging way that your child will love. And because stress, pressure and challenges are part of everyday life, these are skills your child will use forever.

Peace is within reach for your child. Your child can learn research-based skills and techniques to help them become confident, secure, happy and more in control of their body and mind. The best part? They will love to learn with fun and engaging animations.

Stress Free Kids

Lori Lite, Founder of Stress Free Kids
Stress Free Kids® founder Lori Lite has created a line of books and CDs designed to help children, teens and adults reduce stress, anxiety & anger. As a parent, bedtime meant two stressed filled hours trying to get our young son to sleep. Our daughter developed stress related night terrors and Lori herself became sick from anxiety. In an effort to help our own family, Lori created stories that would entertain our children while introducing research-based relaxation and stress management techniques.

Our books and CDs will teach you and your children how to manage stress by using the proven techniques of deep breathing, progressive muscular relaxation, visualizations, and affirmations/positive statements. This unique storytelling format has been embraced by psychologists, doctors, child life care specialists, yoga instructors, teachers, counselors, parents, and most importantly… children.

Our relaxation music CDs and bedtime stories give you a variety of tools to make bedtime and stress management easy, available, and fun.

We are also proud to support our military families as well as our special needs community.
Our blog/articles, newsletter, and resources offer stress tips and information on the mental health challenges facing our children and teens. We are active with Facebook and Twitter.

Sue Scheff: BRAVE - Be Ready and Victory's Easy (A Story about Social Anxiety)

By Marjie Braun Knudsen and Jenne R. Henderson
Great review from Dr. Michele Borba, Parenting Expert and Today Show Contributor on Parenting.
A story about a boy learning to manage his fears of social situations and criticism. He uses the acronym BRAVE, which stands for be ready and victory's easy; to plan ahead for difficult situations at school and home.
Back Cover: Danny, a fifth grader, is bombarded with real and imagined problems. As if school itself wasn't stressful enough, a long speech is required, which feels impossible to him. The only way to get out of giving the speech is to win the science contest. When he's paired with Jack, the goof-off kid in class, he's doomed. Bus stop terrors, lunchtime woes, and dealing with his mean older brother add to his stress. Then disaster strikes! His usual coping strategies are no longer working. What will he do?
